Sessions are by appointment only.
As a practice, our core value is to extend the highest level of care and hospitality to our clients. When you become a client of Southern Solace, you will be offered a standing appointment time with the option of in-between session support. As a result, our practice limits how many clients we work with at any given time.

Email and phone calls are monitored during regular business hours Monday-Friday. Our support team strives to respond to calls and emails within 24 hours during the business week. Phone and email communication are not to be used for emergency situations or sensitive client information.

Our office is dedicated to serving clients throughout the week, Monday-Friday. While the majority of our availability falls within regular business hours, we do have limited availability until 7PM. Please note our late afternoon and evening appointments fill up quickly due to high demand, so reach out today to see if we can accommodate your scheduling needs!

Financial Investment.
Credit/Debit cards are accepted for payment. Clients are required to leave a card on file so we can use all of our time together on helpful conversations, rather than ending early for payment matters.

Many clients choose to utilize their Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts (HSA/FSA).

Rates vary depending on clinician's experience + specializations.

If you have questions about billing or insurance, please email our Client Coordinator; hello@clemsoncounseling.com

Insurance.
Our practice is not in network with insurance companies, however we are happy to provide you with receipts and documentation (called Superbills) to submit to your insurance carrier for possible out of network reimbursement.

Consider the following questions when determining if your insurance will reimburse you for your appointments:

  • What are my mental health insurance benefits?
  • Does my plan cover services rendered by an out of network provider?
  • Is there a deductible to meet before coverage to an out of network provider kicks in?
  • What is the procedure to submit my claims?
  • Is pre-approval required from my physician?
  • Are there any specific limitations (ex: certain number of sessions that will be covered, reimbursement only for certain diagnosis, etc.)

Please review your coverage carefully, and consult with your insurance provider. Each policy is different, so you are encouraged to look into this personally.

Cancellation + No Show Policy.
We prioritize our clients by holding space for each person we see. When clients cancel an appointment, our clinicians offer that space to other clients who need an appointment that week. When clients cancel within 24-hours or no show, other clients miss out on an opportunity to be seen.

If you would like to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we ask that you do so with at least 24-hour notice. No Shows and late cancellations will be billed the regular session rate.

Please Note.
We do not provide the following services:

  • Marriage counseling
  • Family counseling
  • Addiction treatment
  • Therapy for children
  • Educational or psychological testing or consulting
  • Prescriptions or medication management
  • Emotional Support Animal evaluations or recommendations

Communication Policy Regarding Clients Over the Age of 18.

While we understand that parents may be concerned and wish to support their adult children, it is essential to establish clear communication boundaries to uphold the privacy and independence of our clients. If a parent wishes to make initial contact by completing the interest form on this website, our office will reach out to the client/potential client to discuss next steps. Parents or other family members cannot establish care for an adult client; we will need to speak with them directly. Communication related to counseling services, including scheduling, session content and treatment recommendations will be shared directly with the adult client. In the event of a mental health emergency, the client's emergency contact will be contacted.

Our practice is unable to provide 24 hour availability or crisis services.

Good Faith Estimate
In compliance with the No Surprise Act, you are entitled to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of what the charges are for therapy services provided to you. At Southern Solace, you pay per appointment, however your total cost of services will depend upon the number of therapy sessions you attend. It is difficult to determine the true length or frequency of treatment for mental health care, and each client has a right to decide how long they would like to participate. The fee schedule for services is outlined in the new client paperwork completed prior to beginning services. We are happy to discuss progress with you on a regular basis to determine how many sessions you may need. If you are billed for more than this Good Faith Estimate, please let us know so we can make the proper adjustments in a timely manner. However, you also have the right to start a dispute resolution process here: https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises/consumers or call 1-800-985-3059.
